Bringing waves to life with dutch pour
Creating these wave scenes is a meticulous and fascinating process, primarily using Dutch pour techniques. I spend hours meticulously mixing colours and prepping the paint, sometimes adding oil to encourage the formation of beautiful cells. The paint is then poured onto the canvas and manipulated, often using a hairdryer or even a hand-held straw that I blow through, guiding the paint into the shapes, twists, and turns that mimic the natural flow of waves.
